AMERICA FIRST!
I am Chris Knowlton your common sense Republican for the 5th District Congressional seat in Missouri. I am a common working man, seeking your voice to join with mine in the task of bringing Midwest values and clear thinking to Washington DC this year. This is a daunting effort that will change the very fabric of society, which I believe most Americans wish to leave intact for the next generations.
When you look around to find that most people truly live conservative lives with their family, their finances and their love for this wonderfully blessed nation. Don't you find it strange that so many are asking "not what they can do for their country", but the opposite of what else they can get for free from the wealth of this land through taxes from those they don't even know?
By asking you to join me in this mission, I understand that we need a road map and a direction to travel. I offer history to be our guide. Principals of truth that have been successful when applied. Directions of fact coupled with reason, which can not be spun into something, that it is not.
I offer these TEN VALUES which I call AMERICA FIRST to be my guide in 2008 and with your help to lead Washington DC away from the Lemming's path we seem to be on.
AMERICA FIRST!
1.) Begins with the concept that the Constitution and the intent of those who wrote the document must be honored and not manipulated through Judicial Fiat.
2.) America is blessed and must lead by example so that other willing peoples will see a clear example of how to be great with sacrifice and single-minded determination.
3.) America must be secure for freedom to abound. Immigration laws, borders and our common language must be defended to protect the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness that we hold so dearly.
4.) America need only look within for the answers to our projected energy needs. Through relaxed regulation on domestic refineries, drilling, nuclear and coal power plants America can indeed be free of foreign influences on our sound and growing economy. I propose a 60 year plan to triple Electrical output using non-polluting totally renewable resources. (The ones which do not have a lobby.)
5.) American Debt has fueled the rapid advancements of the Pacific Rim and Oil rich states of the world. We must return the ownership of this debt to the citizens of this nation so this nation will not be subject to the whims of money lords, which do not share our interest and values. We can not allow others to control this amount of our destiny. I propose a simple and transparent funding format to allow this debt to be reclaimed by responsible and involved citizens of this country.
6.) America must identify and reject failed policies. These policies would reduce our freedom thus embracing socialism as a norm. Universal Health care, Man-made global warming and an ever increasing dependence on big Government for every day problems. This will not be the America of our Grandchildren.
7.) America once again will trust its chosen leadership. Both Governmental and Corporate responsibility must be held to a higher that normal standard. Beyond the pork and bottom line, America First requires full disclosure of personal and political finances and firm penalties for Boards and Officers who break the law.
8.) America must respect the property rights of individuals and states. Eminent domain must only be used to secure governmental space needs not social/tax engineering. Natural resources held within state boundaries must be subject to that states regulation not Federal mandates.
9.) America must tie its Federal budget to the Gross Domestic Product of this economy. This fundamental change will direct future policy makers to consider the negative affects of laws, regulations and the scope of governmental interference in the process of streamlining for growth.
10.) Wars must be won. America has liberated many millions of souls in the past and will be called on in the future to liberate more. Holding to ones word is a great American Value, which sets us apart, form the less honorable nations of the world. We must not fail in our role of leadership, accountability, generosity, service and sacrifice or the following generations will perish.
America First will be recognized as the Midwest's answer to the folly which has beset the Washington elite. We will no longer set idly while our freedoms, our liberties and our God given rights are swept away through greedy and chaotic legislation. We will no longer accept lies from those who would rule our everyday lives. We will stand for the truth and the path, which our forefathers fought and died to protect.
